Day trips and cultural exchanges are invaluable opportunities for our residents to experience new and exciting environments, people and ideas. Participants who engage fully in these exchanges can gain great personal growth through increased confidence and self esteem. These exchanges really help to draw people out and stretch themselves socially and sometimes physically such as our recent Northern Ireland boat trip. Other day trips have proved both great fun and educational, such as the ‘Cosmos’ exhibition in Blackrock Castle, Cork and Go-Karting at a local track. Such field trips are also used to reward residents for their continued good behaviour or completion of education programmes etc.
