The support system is central to how a resident spends their time at the Foyer. It is there to help residents be more successful in managing their licence and to make best use of their time during their stay. Support planning sessions are ultimately tailored to each resident and the support they require to achieve their goals.
Cork Foyer has 2 Project Workers, each helping 9 residents from entry through to move-on, building strong working relations whilst addressing core issues and working through agreed Support Plans. Once a resident’s needs have been identified, individual ways forward will be explored. This joint exercise will lead to each resident setting out their own personal goals and the support required to achieve them, helping residents to become more responsible for their independence and self development from the beginning.

Areas of need that would be considered under the Foyer assessment and support planning process could include:
The Foyer encourages young people to recognise their potential, and in partnership with numerous other agencies, provides different pathways to opportunities around their current commitments, in addition to providing an abundance of general information and advice around housing, training or personal issues.
Through a formal Support Agreement, all Residents are expected to commit to appropriate support services on offer and take ownership over their own development in order to achieve clearly defined goals within their Personal Support Plan.
