The ground force team have taken part on a number of Blarney Tidy Towns projects over the last 3 months, including the RTE Dirty Old Towns weekend challenge, and the revamp of the Clogheen Milcon roundabout. The team helped move 15 tonnes of gravel and plant over 300 lavender plants on the roundabout. Check out Blarney Tidy Towns facebook for more information and pictures. The team have made a great contribution and worked hard to make a great impact in these projects and look forward to contributing to further projects in the future. The team’s efforts have been greatly received by the Blarney community.
The ground force team maintained the Blackpool plaza for the Blackpool Community Centre, this included planting 18 evergreen oaks in wooden planters with spring and summer planting. These changes make the plaza a much more attractive area with the result that many more local residents are seen using this space. The Team also planted up 4 flower bed with summer planting at Nash’s Boren, with the Local Community Warden Martin Dineen for the visit of the Lord Mayor.
The team are now busy planning their next project which will involve the replanting and design of flower beds in St John’s Square, Blackpool.
